While these tools were always handy, the noise and vibration were honestly quite annoying. That changed when Makita released the DTM52 with AVT (Anti-Vibration Technology), which reduced vibration by 70%.
The machine is significantly more powerful than models without the Starlock system. The Starlock fitment is much more solid than the old open-blade systems, allowing for better power transfer. Although the blades are more expensive, the cutting performance makes the upgrade completely worth it. It actually cuts the wood rather than just burning through it with an annoying noise.
